We bailed out of going to San Francisco. There were probably a lot of people there for the World Series (I watched the game!! THREE FOR PANDA!!)
We walked through the campus and took random paths then went out and found Alice Water’s Edible Schoolyard. It’s in the back of a really big school with a lot of basketball hoops and a track.
The garden has everything in it. Chickens and solar panels and a greenhouse and a kitchen. There were kids working on the compost and adults called the Wednesday Weeders. One lady we met is going to the show on Friday. The kids got to roll the wheelbarrows around and were digging with real shovels. The tool shed was huge. There was a fire pit and areas for town meetings. One was hay, one was tiles, one was picnic tables and there were more.
I wish we could have a garden on the ground like they do at school, but I like our roof farm and we live in New York City not California so what do you expect?
