My Mom and I took the train from Central Station to the Koog-Zaandijk stop. We went to Zaanse Schans, it’s a village with windmills and shops where they make cheese and clogs and paint.
They also have a pancake house. The lady there was really nice and recommended what to get.
I tried all kinds of cheese. Going up in the windmill was very scary because the stairs were steep and it was windy. The swan/goose (who knows!) had a showdown with my Mom.
I sat in a giant clog and saw a violin clog, I mean how often do you get to do that?!

Jasper, I am always surprised when you post these places you have found. You and your mom have good eyes, and yes..the staircase of that windmill does look quite tough on its visitors..lol But I’m glad its still available to tour, it seems beautiful regardless.

I have to say, it was you in ‘We Need to Talk About Kevin’ that first brought me to read your blog, if it been somebody else maybe I would have been more hesitant to visit. But I saw and loved your performance and its one of my favorite movies, so I am happy with all you share. And, I am having a great time getting to know about the tour with your play and how it feels walking down the street in a different country for you!
